Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay fighter from Thailand and mixed martial artist who is currently fighting at flyweight of UFC. Shevchenko's older sister is of former UFC Flyweight champion and co- UFC participant Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her fighting sports career by becoming a Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko was the winner of the event and was defeated by Suzane Miller in the finals with a one-sided decision. Antonina followed it up and was awarded a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008 and a gold award in 2011, and was the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. In 2012 she won an event called the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 she won the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was against Isa Keskikangas of the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko set her professional MMA record at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She took victory with a TKO at the end of second round. She then was able to take home her 2 next fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. She was able to earn an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko put on a pause from MMA to focus on kickboxing. She returned to the ring to fight Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by a unanimous vote and she then beat Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She quit the promotion and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina made use of her formidable punching skills and striking skills to TKO Nievera in the clinch through knees that hit the body.
